March 8, 2011I`ve had my M class for a few months. And I bought a 2003 Suzuki Savage LS 650 right around that time. I got what I think is a great deal on it. $2000 for a very clean bike (only a little scrapping on the pegs) with 2980 miles on her. I had to rejet the carb. It was changed out when it was purchased new for high altitude riding.
I also added a trickle charge and then later a new battery. Oh an a Chilton Guide so I could figure out how to change the battery.
It`s been very fun. I don`t ride as much as I thought I would. Probably about 30 miles a week, but more and more as the weather is nicer.
I am still (believe it or not) a little nervous around corners. Most of my travels are in straight flat lines. We don`t have a lot of corners in Phoenix. Y`know... it`s a process. I am way past the fear of 4th gear... lol. It was probably a month or so before I felt comfortable with speeds above 40. Now, it`s second nature.
I am definitely learning. I`ll try to post more often here and get some pix up too.
Happy riding, all.
